Does seem weird. Maybe it's the "white" like snow?

Hell, everyone knows that the "White" letters means snow traction and "Black" letters means mud traction, Geez!

Obviously an oversite, if the tread is identical, the performance would have to be the same...

I agree with Hammer. I think two different people probably entered the data for the different models and they entered it differently. I had those tires on my old Dakota (in a slightly different size) and they were very good.

Actually the rubber composition of the tire is totally different for white wall tires. The letters aren't just white, it's the core of the sidewall, that's why when you see older tires on a women's car, the whole sideall is white because she can't drive and keeps curbing the tire. I thought it should be the same like y'all are saying, but I got into a long conversation with a chemical engineer that worked for Bridgestone about this one time.

Well this is what i got from BFG:

You are correct in that a few sizes of BF Goodrich All Terrains do no have
the severe weather designation which is indicated by the snow flake on a
mountain emblem. These particular sizes it was decided to remove some of
the sipping to give the tires a more aggressive tread but thus eliminating
the above designation.

Then it makes no sense, since in your original post you said the tires were the same size, just one a raised white and the other a black wall.
BFG says that they removed sipping (which would not only make them a poorer performer on snow & ice but wet pavement as well) from some sizes.

That is correct they are the same exact sizes... idk why they did it but i hope that it doesnt make this tire perform like crap because i got them on my truck for traction looks and for when i go huntin..
