4 low is a torque gear, for towing out othier 4x4 owners who drive in 4 low, 4 hi is way more forgiving on the drive train.

One item to mention, you really only have 3 wheal drive, the front diff is open and if you don't have a LSD, you have two wheal drive...

I pulled out a 4x4 Ram that did not have a LSD. LSD are a extra cost option, only a small % of 4x4 rams don't have a LSD.
Being rather new to Dodge, and having really one previous vehicle, what is the LSD that you speak of, in the automotive department? Never heard of that before...
