4lo or 4hi for sand?
I was on the sand last weekend and I was wondering which is the best? I used 4 lo but it felt a little torquey.

Just out of curiosity... if you get stuck ehile in 4 wheel hi how would you switch to 4 wheel low without grinding gears or anything. I have the manual shifter on the floor, which is much better than my last SUV that has it electronically. lol
4 lo is supposed have more torque and is actually more likely to spin the wheels. for sand use 4 hi and lower you tire pressure as mentioned above, save the 4 lo for when you need extra traction and more torque ( like pulling a buddy out of the mud hole
)

Thanks for the replies. Although I've 4 wheeled a fair bit in my life, I've never really known what I was doing other than just trying not to get stuck. lol

4 hi... 4 low will tear your truck apart and send your truck deap into earths bowels.
4 low is a torque gear, for towing out othier 4x4 owners who drive in 4 low, 4 hi is way more forgiving on the drive train.
One item to mention, you really only have 3 wheal drive, the front diff is open and if you don't have a LSD, you have two wheal drive...
I pulled out a 4x4 Ram that did not have a LSD. LSD are a extra cost option, only a small % of 4x4 rams don't have a LSD.
