Lbpgh have you made any other mods recently?Something like air induction that may not be working well with your exhaust?Air and gas could be passing thru your engine unburned. That can happen.

Im betting you are driving alot differently than before now that you can hear the engine. 5mpg is a lot to lose from an exhaust leak IMO.

true many ppl just think that they wouldnt change their driving style when they installing best sounding muffler just to hear it.

I rarely drive over 2500 rpm. Most of time i stay under 2000 rpm unless i am driving on hills

Not enough to justify losing 5 mpg. I still have to light foot it most of the time so I don't **** the wife off too much. I keep it below 2 grand as much as possible. The highway mileage is about the same, finally got to check the highway mileage this morning. So it is really the city driving that has dropped off significantly. No other mods to the truck. I have had it about 2 months now. The dealer checked it over while it was in for death wobble, and the throttle body has some build up, but other than that, i'm not sure why the mpg difference in the city.

Default MPG and exhaust

I installed the gibson split rear system on my 1500 quad cab hemi and after resetting the pcm i noticed between a 1/2 mile to a full mile to a gallon improvement. I dont do alot of long distance driving so a gain was really nice. Its a good idea to reset the pcm anytime you do any mods, also helps after cleaning throttle body and changing egr.
