yeah exactly, I just want to see if anyone had experience. Time will tell if I'm going to do it or not.

lol, all he has to do is go to youtube and google. Try to hit up people who have done it. Theres a few rams and daks with diesel swaps. It's defiantly possible and has been done.

yeah, then you go from having a $10,000+ perfectly good truck to having a cobbled truck with tens of thousands in it that is worth nothing.

IMO, if youre gunna do a swap it should be with an older vehicle without all the computer crap, then you dont take such a loss by destroying a vehicle that is worth a lot of money...

didn't say id do it lol, just that its happened and is possible. I'm planning to do a diesel swap on my 78 jeep cherokee. Thats gunna be my mod toy from now on. The ram really isnt worth all the money as a daily driver.

Oh and here's a chevy 1/2 ton with a cummins conversion.

That afthemi guy that gets so pissed if you say anything about lowering trucks claims to be doing it right now...I dont know how much truth there is to that but thats what I read...

And I wonder how much that 5.0 will be?

The Chevy conversion is a 95 model. It had the most basic ECU setup you can imagine. You could unplug the computer and the rest of the truck would drive fine. That isn't true with a 3rd gen Ram.

My Hemi has another 18k miles on it since this thread started and it's still perfect. I'd say it's the best component of the truck.

There is someone who dropped a 24 valve into a reg cab short bed 1500. So I'm guessing its possible, just gonna take time and a good chunk o change.
