take it to a mechanic so they can hook it up to the computer to find the codes or if you have a programmer, plug it in to that.

If there's a Autozone where you live, they can pull the codes for free...

Most auto part chain stores will read the codes for you. Once you know the codes, post them here and one of us can tell you what you need to do. Could be throttle body, EGR valve, TP Sensor or any of a host of things you can fix yourself with minimum skills and very little expense. But first thing is we gotta know those codes...

Hey, took my hemi to the dodge dealership and fault code po335 which is "Crankshaft Position sensor failure" came up. New part is on the way and is covered under warranty...thank god!
Next question: with this sensor not working, will this cause engine wear and why a sensor at this location? with older vehicals they do not have these so why now? is it to sence bearing wear? just wondering. Thx to all that reply to this message, Tim.

The computer system uses crankshaft and camshaft position to fire spark and injectors. They do not monitor wear. All cars with electronic ignition have had position sensors of some sort. Usually mounted in the distributor.
Once the dist. was done away with they needed new places to monitor rotation, hence mounted at the cam and crankshaft.

FYI on future codes, you can get them yourself. In the DIY section it explains how.
