Default Cheap Lift.

Ok I want to hear some opions on doing this. I've been thinking about it pretty hard and really dont see a problem. What I have now
2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi Thunder Road
2 inch leveling kit the kind that you have to take your strut apart to install.
This is what i'm thinking about doing on top of what I have now
a 2.5 Bolt on leveling kit with new shocks and blocks in the rear.

That wll give me the stance I want, and will be cheap to do.
I am also getting ready to buy a set of 35s to put on it I know I can clear them now I just dont want them to be stuffed in there and really cant afford a big suspension lift, I really dont need the truck any higher than what it would be.

my buddy has a 04 1500 with a 3' body lift and leveling kit with 35x1250R17 and they fit fine with 2-3" of clearance from fender to tire you have 20's so it might sit higher than his stock

Hey man! So funny story... I have an '08 Ram that's getting levelled next week when TGC finally gets the kit to me. I was going with 2 1/2 up front, and 1 1/2 in the rear end. I was thinking of doing the body lift as well, and incidentally a guy I got to chatting with today at Canadian Tire told me all about doing his Body lift. Easy to do with a small crew and all, but I still worry still about things like warranty myself. But if levelling kits don't pooch warranty, then what would a body lift do? Steering components, mounting bolts, hoses, etc... but nothing catastrophic that the levelling kit hasn't already altered. Granted most that will be altered can be repaired or fixed fairly easily (provided you altered it to finish the lift in the first place) as you've done it once already... but what a pain it would be still.

But I think the body lift is a completely non BS way to hike up your truck just a tad more. Anyone who says it's the "poor mans lift" needs to take a boo around and see that ALOT of these jacked up trucks incorporate suspension and body lifts together for as much as a foot of total lift! But who in the city needs that? For the city truck that won't get dirty if you can help it, an absolutely great way to get a more aggressive tune to your daily drive.... and if you're like me, and seeing gas prices that resemble VHF radio frequencies (Metric) per litre/UHF frequencies (imperial) per gallon makes you nauseated; coupled with planning a wedding, then 6500 bucks for a suspension lift, wheels, tires, and labour is all too unrealistic.

Did you install your own levelling kit? I just got confused when I read your post about the 2" and the 2 1/2" levelling kits. Could you PM me with some advice and if you've got any pics of the job being done I'd love to see more! Cheers!

I did install the kit my self, it wasnt to bad but i've also built two motors. I dont have any pics at the moment.

The thing about 2 2.5 kits is i'm going to level my truck twice one bolt on and one that you have to compress the springs to install, then I will lift the rear 2 inches. I'm just not about the body lifts at all just me!
