Considering gear swap -Advice?
My '07 4x4 1500 will soon have 35's (325/60R20) on it and I am thinking about doing the gears in the spring. I drive the truck 50 miles a day on the highway on weekdays. Like to have a little fun on the weekends, nothing too serious though. Would I be better off with 4.56 or 4.11?
Also, could someone point me to a kit that comes with everything I will need. Or give a detailed list of all the parts required.

I can't really help you with what gears to get, except from what I've read here on the forum most people would probably suggest the 4.56 gears. If you do choose to get the 4.56 gears i found this
http://moesperformance.com/index.php...oducts_id=1163
and this is for the 4.11 gears

they come with both front and rear gears and the install kits for front and rear

some options to consider:
consider finding a Dodge Power Wagon on a dealership lot that already has OEM 4.56 gears and doing a test drive where your present truck follows the PW and you can compare MPG at steady Highway cruise using cell phones, and some rolling acceleration runs 'real world' where you can easily see if one truck draws away or gets closer.
For the best test, ballast your present truck to match the extra pounds of the PW
consider that if you go to the expense of the 4.56 r/p installs
when it becomes time to sell/trade-in
you will have marked your truck as one that an experienced dealer,
or practical used buyer,
will recognize had a 'hard driven & modified life'.
There will be a hit to the resale value unless you find a young buyer seeking thrills.
Buyers look for bargaining points, and don't expect them not to seize on this.
you also have the option of a gear vendors
in underdrive arrangement
that costs more initially,
but has a high resale value on the used market,
or can be fitted to your next truck regardless of brand:

look at your options with a clear eye
especially when it comes to the money
while the impressive off road Dodge PW comes with 4.56 diff gears for crawling,
other pickups have 3.06 or 3.15 rear differentials
and if you use your truck for a 50 mile per day commute,
you should know why:

He has a 1500, not a PW. The PW is on a completely different frame and it has 33" tires. How is that going to be an kind of accurate comparison? No to mention the logistical nightmare of trying to get someone to follow you around in their PW.
He's putting 35's on. He needs to regear it. Period.
Be careful taking advice based on theory when their is plenty of advice based on experience.

With out a doubt 4.56's will be the best gear for your application... actually with 35" you should be considering 4.88's. But they dont make a 4.88 for the Front 8" carrier.. so 4x4 guys max out with 4.56's.
I recommend 4.56's to anyone who has 32"+ tall tires on their trucks.
Do the math and you will see why.
1) Find your overall Gear ratio:
Rear Gear x Trans Overdrive Gear = OVERALL GEAR RATIO (OGR)
2) Find your RPMs at ANY SPEED:
SPEED x OGR x 336 / Tire Height = RPM
For best "ALL ROUND PERFORMANCE" I recommend customers to aim for 2100RPMs@60MPH. Any lower and you LUG the engine down... this sucks more fuel.
When I went from 3.55's to 4.56's I only gained 300rpms@60MPH and with that SMALL gain in RPM I also Gained 3-4MPG!

Go with the 4.56's, the best mod done to date, Id recomend them for any 3rd gen (off road OR street app.). Highway driving is alot more fun now, hell all around driving is alot more fun since I put them on. Puts my 60-65mph right at 2100rpms and 70-80mph around 25000rpm. Acceleration is very very smooth too, the truck seems to just glide now when passing. No loss in mileage, actually gaining mileage but I think that has to do with the tonneau as well though.
