Default ABS+Brake Light on

I just bought an 03 1500 slt crewcab 5.7L.
the problem i have is.
when i start the truck up no lights are on.
when i start moving then hit the brakes i feel the abs pushing back on the brake pedal.
after a few times the abs + brake light come on and stay on and i no longer feel vibration in the pedal once the light comes on.
the symtoms are erratic one day i can go 10 ft and the lights come on the another time i can go 20 miles befor they come on.
oh one time the lights were on and i was stoped then i made a right hand turn and during the turn the lights went off for about 30 miles.

any advice would help thanks.

Sounds like the ABS system is not working properly. Since you had it go off when you turned a corner, it might be a faulty sensor or bad connection to the sensor at the wheel. It doesn't sound like it's a big deal, it's just telling you that the ABS system is not working.

Is your spedo acting up? Reason I ask is that is a common problem on the previous Generation of Ram. There is/was a speed sensor on the top of the rear diff.
When it failed it would light the abs and brake light.
Good luck.
