Works great on 02-05 trucks. 12 gauge wire.

that is a good idea but i prefer it to be a little more covert. that's like putting a system in your truck and running the wires on top of the carpet. When the kids and wife are asleep tomorrow I will take pics and try to post them and when you see clean and easy this looks you will probably get rid of that wire.

Not worried about water getting in there?

Cheap, sure. Safe? Maybe not so much. You don't know the amperage rating of the "spare" line you tapped yet you're fine with sticking a 15 amp fog light load on it. You don't know what else is on that circuit and whether the fog's draw will overload it. All you do know is your fogs now come on with the ignition. Great.

I've been wiring 12v for over 20 years. I owned a car stereo store in the 90s and got my certification back in 1992 when the MECP program was still brand new. I'm all about being cheap but I won't do it in a way that could damage my vehicle.

no offense but I have been doing the same thind you have for the last 10-11 years and i have enough sence to look into what i have done a little further than you think. if you read my other post you will see that I have taken my fuse panel completly apart. the supply to this specific terminal is straight from the battery via the supply strips in the fuse box it's self...please I'd appreciate it if you didn't talk down to me because you assume that I am just another redneck (which I am) trying to mess up someone's ride. If you don't agree with it then don't do it...better yet take apart your fuse panel and see the same thing that i did and then tell me that I am stupid and try to use a little less words next time.

Exactly like RaiderJay6 said, except when I did mine I installed a 5 amp inline fuse just in case something were to happen you would be protected!

I have had mine like this for a year and have had absolutely NO issues! I drive with my lights on where ever I go so there for I am always drawing power from my parking lights for my fog lights! I think it is an easy and great way to do this!

All I'm offering is a cleaner and more reliable install to accomplish the same end result.
