yeah they basically become running lights..but i guess if you are trying to be sneaky for some reason and driving around with your lights off then it's not for you...

This is all great, but doesn't help me with my 08 as I don't have any relays in my fuse panel
I'm sure there is a way for us newer truck owners without the hassle of going to the dealership. I'll figure it out one way or another!

I just don't get why they would have the foggs turn off with the high beams? I can understand having the low beams turn off in most vehicles and obviously the need for it to be off in our truck because of the dual filament bulb, but why the foggs???? You can't drive into traffic with your high beams on, so it's not like your blinding others even more!

ok..
I can x-plain...
here it is not alowed to use the low beams and fog light together. If you noticed when a car come toward you with fog light on you will be flashed (a little). So here there is the rule not to use fog light with low beam.
but I want to substitute the "bad" high bems with some more light from the fog light. (that is alowed here).

so on and off together with the high beams!

I don't understand where you are getting your info bout the low beams and fog lights @ the same time. If it were a rule or law then the auto manufactures wouldn't be able to allow them to be on at the same time. Besides they are designed to work together being that the fog lights are aimed more at the ground and thus reduce the reflection of light from say"fog"

Dirtydog....I guess that i will have to get my hands on an '08 so that i can see what's there. I am sure that the fuse panel has a spare slot or two just like previouse models. Do you know what you have inplace of relays b/c something has to take over the function of the relay?

Yes there is a way and you would have to pull the same wire from the fog light relay and put it on the positive lead from the high beam relay that leads to the lights. now here are the potential probs... you may over load the fuse or wires which would either just blow the fuse of burn the wires. Secondly it may dim your brights a slight bit because of the juice being take up by the fog lights. There is anothe way. if you take away the signal power from the fog light relay and tap into the signal power from the high beams and simply plug it it in place of the low beam signal power wire

so the way that hammer has the lights they can still turn on an off with the switch but can also be used with the high beams correct because that is the way i would like to wire it but you cant use them without having the lights on
