Homemade bumpers & headache rack
I certainly hope no one loses a job
in the hard times ahead,
but if you do,
and have to find a way to
"juice up"
your job application
to get it noticed
when there are hundreds of other applications
the hiring company is wading through,
doing a project like this
complete with drawings and pictures of the build step-by-step
is a way to get you noticed
and more often than not
get a chance at the job.
Doing a 'mod' like this to your truck
is a thousand times better
than just buying a
blingy CAI,
a fancy painted throttle body spacer,
Powerwire,
etc

I drew one up the other day, and got some pictures up today.

But one thing about me, is that I overdo it in the initial steps. A rough sketch has to be perfect. I tried to make it as symmetrical as possible. The grille is messed up. I think that the fog lights would look pretty cool. In the center is a winch. On the sides of that is some tow hooks with reinforced mounting brackets. Underneath of that is a hitch. Still need real measurements, then will get it all finalized on measurements and all.

I am a draftsman and have access to auto cad and inventor at work so is it possible for you to email me the dwg. So I can edit it and such to create my bumper for my truck. I'd be most appreciative . My email address is STallant@martinsprocket.com I have a 2005 ram 1500 so I would need to modify your drawing but it's a great start. Please and thank you in advance.
Actually I really didnt have alot of different machines.
I Used a Plasma cutter at the steel yard(friends work there), a basic lincoln 110 welder,
hand held grinder, $5 dollar plastic protractor, lots of cardboard and tape for templates.

Heres the autocad drawing converted to jpeg.
if anyone uses this design, the widths will vary depending on the amount of angle,
you use coming off the center section.
and the sides i did with cardboard, just used the drawing as a reference as to how
i wanted it to look.
just make sure to use a protractor to get the angles the same from side to side.
