I'm looking into getting some dual exhaust for my truck, i was just wondering if anyone has it coming out infront of the rear passenger side tire. If so how do you like it? does it sound too loud because the pipes are too short after the muffler?

 

I never cared for that due the the condensation and such getting blown onto the rear tire.
The sound just depends on the muffler that you use.

 

Condensation? what does that cause the tire to do?

 

Get full of soot and crap. Looks messy fast!

 

Personally, I think it's a cool look. Yeah, it will dirty up the rim and tire, so you'll have to clean it more. I don't think it's too noisy either. I don't have that setup, but my neighbor does on his silverado, and it sounds pretty good. I don't know what the laws are in Canada, but some states have made it illegal to have the exhaust exit in front of the rear tires because of the risk that exhaust gases might get in the cab. I can only see that being a problem if you're stopped & idling with the windows down and the wind just right. Even at that, there's not much risk, it's a stupid law. Back to the noise though, there will be more noise in the cabin due to the fact the outlets are closer to you, but the pipe length isn't the issue. The two biggest factors in noise level are generally muffler and exhaust tip size & shape. It's a badass look and a badass sound, so go for it!

 

yeah i think its something different, you always see the exhaust come out the back or on and angle out the back. I ordered it today so I'm hoping it will be on by next week.

 

Actually, it's always out the back. I have the only truck that I've seen with the exhaust coming out at an angle pretty much at the edge of the bumper. Straight out = exhaust on every vehicle.
Side angle exit & exit in front of tires & dumped out = cool and unique style for having your exhaust. Other people have it, but no where near as many people.

 

Im a fan of the exhaust comin out infront of the passenger tire, its a unique look. The angled out the back is pretty sweet too. post some pics so we ca see. And Semigod, where did you get the hemi stripe ? i've been looking for one but cant find any good lookin ones.

 

That's what I'm planning for mine as soon as I get it in. Putting a double out the side in front of the tire. Ordered an AT 3030 a little over two weeks ago now... 6-10 day shipping my ***...

 

Inherited my Hemi 2500 4x4 with side exit dual in front of tire. Crappy cameraphone picture sorry. Had some rubes comment on the nice step for the bed of the truck... argh... I was - yeah sure, step on that, I want to see your shoes melt, hello - exhaust!

By the way... flowmaster - rumbles good, but horrible accoustics right at 1600 rpm in the cab.
