I am new to my truck, and to this forum... I noticed it shifts at higher RPM's by default... so yeah quicker... But then, if you really trounce on it... it'll still stand up!

Part throttle shifts are higher, I've seen no added power.

YES you get later shifs because in drive you loose RPM's due to the torque

so would it be better acceleration from a dead stop or moving? Also i remember one of my older cars said turn overdrive off if you need more power to pass someone. Is tow/haul the same thing as turning overdrive off?

O/D off doesn't allow the OD 4th gear...tow/haul does.

Your part throttle acceleration will be a little better in tow/haul because of the raised shift points...which results in higher rpms under the same amount of throttle. If you go WOT there won't be a difference...full throttle has it's own shift tables which aren't effected by tow/haul.
