Anyone installed a product like this? I just installed a cover and this looks like a sweet way to lock the tailgate!

I found a locking tailgate latch and put that on my truck. It uses a key, I supply the power. I have a fiberglass camper shell.

 

I have that exact lock.Works with my key fob and electric door looks in the cab, i love it.You can find picks of it here.

Where did you get one for the tailgate?

 

My dad put one on his 2500 after people were stealing tailgates around his area. Was a pretty simple install. Nice and clean.

 

It might have been autopartswarehouse.com. I don't remember. I think it was around 32 dollars with free shipping. I had an order over $50 to get the free shipping though. I just googled dodge ram locking tailgate latch and started looking at links.

 

So, if I install an electric tailgate lock, how do I get the tailgate off again since the wires are attached to the truck and the tailgate? Is there a disconnect switch for the wiring?

 

Bullydog, I believe, makes these too, but for about 1/2 the price of the Pace... at least they did...
