Default Muffler Shop Duals

I want a little rumble for my Dodge, so I called a local Midas muffler shop. They said they were running a special on dual exhaust systems. Over the phone he said they could do the job for about $320. Not sure what kind of muffler(s) they'll be using, but do you think this is a decent price? He said they can set it up the way I want. I want them angled out the back, but hidden a little. Anybody got pics of an exhaust like this? Also, is there anything I should tell them or have them do while I'm there?

Good price. But I have found, on DD cars that customized systems from shops that seem like a good price tend to fall apart/rust out faster than an aftermarket kit.

Your price quote on rhe phone is to get you in the door. Midas was clue less when I started reserching my dual ex set up, and The shop that did muy conversion was sucking dynomax ultra flows.

Any dynomax mufler is to be avioded and thier may be a 02 sensor that may need to be added to the bill depending on its location, before, or after the Y pipe.

I have my pipe's d running over the rear diff and out behind the pass rear wheal.

To run ex pipe over the spare is just adding to the cost and adds restriction, take your time and really resrch your muflers, my dual ex needs to be redone due to the lousy chioce I made in muflers..

I had mine done at a local shop for $365, SI/DO out the back. No offense to anyone that works at a chain store (like Midas, Jiffy Lube, etc), but I trust chains a lot less than I trust a local guy. The price you were quoted is probably a bit low, what muffler is in that, what tips, and does it include all labor and hangers? It very well may be a valid price, but if I were you, I'd look into a reputable local shop. Just my $0.02

just my 2 cents... make sure you get stainless. Any decent muffler brand is fine, as long as you are happy with the sound... can never go wrong with a flowmaster. I paid right about $300 for my set up (Flowmaster 40 SI/DO, 2-3 1/2"x 18" stainless tips and install). Midas.... no offense to anyone who may work there, but they always seem a little..... "half-assed" to me. I would trust a high school ag student to do a better job than a midas.

Ask them to give you a breakdown of what you're going to get. Stainless, mandrel bends of course, nice looking tips, all welded construction, and a reputable muffler series is what I'd be looking for. And have them actually pull the parts from the back, or see if they'll let you take a peek at what they're going to be installing. That way they shouldn't be able to swindle you out of money for extra stuff at the end.

Like someone already said, the big chains tend to not give a crap sometimes, especially when it comes to custom work. A smaller shop will do a better job b/c they're advertising is largely through word of mouth referrals.
