Default Is this normal?

I have a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 5.7 hemi, flowmaster , cold air intake, and superchip set for high performance.

When I accelerate at a specific point I can hear the engine knocking a bit. Is this normal for a 5.7 hemi. I"m also due for an oil change. but the light just came on at 2500 miles.

Glen,

Are you using super unleaded gas? The chip setting may require >92 octane. Just a guess, but sounds logical....

i think what your'e hearing is on the the line between knock and regular combustion. the SC advances timing, so you will get a more violent/loud pop.

I would like to hear it before giving any "it is normal" blessing.

I believe I experienced this today...I've had my Hemi Ram for almost 3 months now, and today was really the first time that I got on it full blast. I floored it up to 50mph and right when I let off the pedal, I got an odd pop/knock...

Any idea if this is engine or drivetrain related?

Thanks!

Glen,
Was it making the noise when stock...if not, after which mod did you start notice it?

It was with the superchip performance program. I'm not sure if it is related to the program or not though. I have not heard it lately.
