Have had my 07 for about a year now, around 12k miles on it. I couldn't be happier with my truck! No problems so far.

Hemi #643, I appreciate your concern, I had consulted the dealer on that issue and they said no problems would come of going to synthetic on the first oil change. But, I will consider your advice as I am having my heads reworked this winter.

I work at a dodge dealer and there haven't been many problems with the 07/08s at all, just with the 4x4s the front shocks do tend to leak out, but other than that, no major problemss whatsoever.

I bought my 07 Ram 1500ST in December 06. Now, with 28k miles on it, NO corrective maintenance. Just fluid and filter changes. Went with Rancho shocks and Wagner severe duty brake shoes, haven't towed much more than 3,500 pounds on a single axle trailer. Did change out transmission and differential lubricants at 15k.

Truck does sit a bit high, my 68 D100 Utiline sits quite a bit lower and is easier to load and unload. Dogs like the old truck better also.

Thanx for the heads up on the shocks, i guess that will give me an excuse to put some aftermarket shocks on my ram.

My wife picked the Dodge for the look, but a little quick research on my part made me feel better about it. Consumer Reports says the quality is much improved over previous years. The power on the 4.7 is almost in line with the hemi for 2008, but I understand the hemi will get more power for 2009. And I agree this is one tall truck!

As for problems, none so far. It's run great for 10k miles since we picked it up in March.

Your gonna get different answers from different people. But me, I love my ram. I have an 08 4.7 qc. Rides great, looks great, and works great. Havent towed that much, only about 2,000 pounds and handled that with ease. But i put the payload to test. Ive driven about 50 highway miles with 1500 pounds and didnt even feel it and the beds in great condition.

I only have 9,000 miles on mine and its an '07, I bought it 4 months ago with 3,000 miles on it the only problem I had was a blown speaker and got a letter in the mail from Dodge stating there was a problem with the stock speakers and if they fail even after the warranty they will replace.. so got both replaced... love the truck

Dodge did adjust one of them and I did the other one ( front doors only ). Now it is just a very slight annoyance when there are high crosswinds. I can live with it. Another issue I have had, that has been corrected is the chrome on the grill bubbling. The third one was the charm and has been in the truck for 8 months now. I have had a problem with the idle speed being a little low and 3 different dealers in different states could find no problems. The last dealer did replace the EGR valve but this didnt correct the problem. I installed a Cortex tuner and it now idles at about 680-700 RPMs. This issue has never affected the performance of the truck adversly. I would recommend Cortex to anyone wanting a noticable gain in performance from the Hemi with no other mods other than a K&N filter. The Performance tune and adjusted shift points make a hell of a difference. Also adjusted the rev limiter. All said, I would buy another Dodge Truck ( 09 Hemi sometime next year hopefully ) in a minute. Im very pleased with the way it rides and handles. Every automaker is having issues with their products. BUY A HEMI ! LOVE MINE !
Itr should idle @ 500rpm in gear when hot.

21,000 miles on my 07. Only problems I had was with the 4x4 system and stereo speakers. Was at the dealer for a month while they flew in Dodge techs to figure out what was going on with the 4wd. The actuator on the transfer case burned up and shorted out the pcm and a few other things. Sucked not having the truck for an entire month but they gave me a black Magnum R/T AWD to drive and that is a sweet car!
