04 4.7L radiator hoses need replacement!
I went to the dealer last week, powersteering hoses leaking; not covered under warranty $185.00 repair.
Went back today, Heater core hose found to be leaking. Parts $55.00 Labor $125.00. = $192.00. I Needed inspection and Emissions why I went back.
Then when I was done picking it up, also told me my upper and lower radiator hoses have small pin like leak but theyll let me go and to bring it in ASAP for repair; this is also not covered under warranty. They want $190.00 parts and labor to repair. Parts are about $40.00. Its a 2004 4.7L SLT Regular Cab. Anybody else have a problem with their hoses leaking? I baby this truck like no other man WTF!!! I bought a Haynes repair manual but doesnt say anything on how to replace the hoses nor how to get the air out of it after refilling, pretty much skipped the whole repair process in the manual. I just cant see spending $150 for a gentleman to replace two hoses in two minutes, he isn't a physician. I also bought two gallons of HOAT coolant $24.00 a gallon and went to the store to pick up some distilled water. Any advice on how to do this repair and save a bundle would be nice. I want to replace the two hoses then just put back in fresh coolant to replace what was lost when I switched hoses; where do we recycle antifreeze? Thank you all!!
