I have the 4.7, regretfully I had to switch back to conventional, I was using the Mobil1 full syn and lost 2-3 mpg in the city and a steady 3 on the highway. I tried three different times with the same results. I'm sticking with the Valvoline I'm running now. I'm back up to 18-19 mpg in the city and 23-25 hwy.

I ran Mobil 1 for 15+ years and recently switched to Royal Purple in my Grand Cherokee 4x4 and the Ram. Both experienced a 1.5-2 mpg increase with the RP! And ramhunter, you need to do something, I'm running a heavy suspension lift, 35" tires and weigh in at close to 7000 lbs. with winch, grille guards, etc. and get about 13 city and close to 16.5 on hwy, and that's with 4.56 gears...

Take it out of low gear
Seriously, try new plugs as mentioned and maybe even reset the PCM.
