Got a new 2008 2500 Quad Cab Big Horn (3 days old!!) and I wanted to know if/how I can:

1. Convert the standard cargo box to a longbox? If so, what site can I find the box and parts to do this?

2. Want to switch out cloth seats with vinyl. Considered covers but they dont look right from what I can tell. Know of http://www.shopsar.com/ but wondering if there is a place where I can just order the dodge equivalent seats but in vinyl. Unless someone out there has covers that look awesome..then I would be interested in that.

man, the only way to convert to long box is to extend the frame, drive shaft, electrical, brake lines, etc, gas lines, and thats if you can cut the frame in a place where you can put in a piece that wont interfere with suspension.

 

Gotcha. Figured it was harder than just bolting one one. Couldnt tell from the Dodge site if the wheel base was the same.

Got any comment on the leather seats? I think that is do-able but Im clueless on where to go to get it done.

 

There is a company in Texas that will do a long bed conversion for you, Google "Long Bed Megacab" and you'l find the website.

 

as far as seatcovers... check out katzkin.com...

Although, I'm not sure if they are actual seatcovers, or new upholstery for seats.

Ive seen the guys on the tv shows Xtreme 4x4, and Trucks that are on SpikeTV use this company an awful lot. Looks like they have a great product!

 

Thanks for the link!! Thats probably taking it to the extreme for me. I was hoping for a slightly structural mostly cosmetic bolt on. Boy was I dreaminn'. That guy has a niche market thats for sure. I can see plenty of guys opting for that. Thanks again!!

Katzskin does new upholstery for seats. Usually they are pretty expensive, but the quality is very good from what I have seen. There are other places that are cheaper like leatherseats.com and Autoleatherinc which is a sponsor and I think gives a discount.

 

torqued, I know what you mean. I would have loved to get my 08 QC with a long bed, vinyl seats and rubber floor mats. The vinyl and rubber only came with v6 standards (as far as what I could find) and I was told that the QC didn't come with 8' bed (in 1500). Oh well the truck is prettier inside than the ones that I have had in the past, but I have to be much more careful.

 

I always see a quad cab log box at my gym, which is weird cus I have never seen one before. It dosent even have a hemi logo on it and def isent a CTD. Maybe you can order em from the factory like that
