I was taking my dad home tonight and we were going uphill when it kicked down into 3rd and went to 4K and was on the limiter and no power!! WTF?! any ideas? I tried to shift to neutral then drive and no change.

Any ideas? Truck has 77K. Trans has been acting funny like not going into gear in rev or D, and some shutter under normal driving.

 

my truck has done that one time before i droped it in (n) gave it a lil gas then droped it back in drive an it was all good it done it while i was racing to..

 

Can you duplicate this if you take it out right now?

 

i know what you mean i havent had the rev problem but it wouldnt go into drive or reverse and had to finagal it before it decided to go into gear and sometimes i get a little shudder under hard acceleration let me know if anything is wrong i would like to know as well

Nope, could not duplicate. Just a grimlin getting sucked into the trans pump I guess. Hasn't done it since.

I would check your fluids just in case and pay close attention going forward.

 

Yep, checked the fluids, put 5K on it since, and made 3 passes down the 1320, no issues. I'll probably change the fluids and filter when the wx breaks, too cold.
