window tint opinions
I was just curious about how much % the tint is on the back window of the truck and also, what percentage should I get for the side windows? I am thinking about 20% but I'm not sure.
I believe the factory stained is about the equivalent of 18%. I put 27% on my front windows, 27% is the legal limit in SC, it actually looks pretty good, and it's not too dark to where I have to roll the window down to see out of at night...

I am illegal at about 15% (my sig pic isnt updated), and I have never been pulled over before. Honestly, I think cops look more for the rice burners and sports cars with dark tint just as a reason to pull them over and bust them for other things.
Oh well, if I ever do get questioned I am going to tell them my girlfriend surprised me with the tint for my birthday and I didnt have the heart to tell her it was illegal.

I know im on the 3 gen but i have 5% all the way around except for the windsheild (Thanks to the dump truck in front of me) had the same tint on for 3 years now. Been pulled over too many times to count, but i just make sure the windows are rolled down when i stop. Also you can get a perscription from your eye doctor if you want dark tint and dont want to have to worry about getting stopped for it.

i did 5% on the front and 1.5% on the rear sides and a layer of 5% over the rear tint. i love it!
illegal as hell, but it looks great.
i'm thinking of doing 50% on the front windshield

That's just ridiculous Not safe for night driving at all. No way you can possibly see backing up in the dark with no lights around. No way you can see if you take a right hand turn at an intersection just incase you run over a person walking their dog or a guy on a bicycle coming up from behind.
20% is as dark as I would go. Any tint you do will make the tint on the rear windows seem darker than what they are right now. I'm getting 35% done in a few weeks. My friend has 35% on his. Big difference after sunset. Noticeably darker. If you want to block the sun mainly, get 20% but you night vision will start to suffer. Not to bad though.
