All 4.7s
in terms of money
as a 'Reality Check'
owners of 4.7 engined Rams
should go over to a website like
Kelly Blue Book, Edmunds, etc
and find the 'real world' difference
in the used price of their pickup
versus a 5.7 Ram of similar features
We are in tough economic times
but one aspect of this
is that a 5.7 engined Ram
can be had very inexpensively
today.... less than the cost of most tuners for 4.7s
the design features of the 5.7
(and its cousin the very interesting SRT 6.1)
are superior to the 4.7 in nearly every way....
in low rpm torque,
high rpm horsepower,
and all around fuel economy
there is an old saying:

Hank... honestly do you really believe a 5.7L can be swapped for less then 5,000 bucks by the average person? If so this proves how out of touch you are with reality.
In order to swap in a 5.7L you would need to first track down the HEMI engine with the PCM & complete harness... 1,500-2500 bucks.
Then you need to install it... OK wait a second... thats not a bolt in! You will need for fabricate CUSTOM brackets, to mount the engine. You would need to re wire the entire engine bay and under dash... By the time you complete this project it will exceed 5,000 bucks easy unless you have the skills/tools/abilities to do the job yourself.
All that time and effort for 75HP over a stock 4.7L which could be found with just bolt ons without even pulling the 4.7L out of the truck.
Now if somone spent that 5000+ bucks and built a 4.7L they would be able to EXCEED the power of the stock HEMI and it would be a "DIRECT BOLT IN".
Now I know you will disagree because you have made it your life to follow me around the forums and attack me my business and anything I say or do... This is no secret to those who know you, but now your just plan being silly and you have once again shown your lack of knowledge of our hobby.
Fact is, it would be cheaper/easier to swap in a BUILT 4.7L that makes 400+RWHP then a 5.7L that makes 260RWHP. You could make HEMI HP with a 4.7L without even pulling the engine!
Also a poll over on Dodge Talk disagrees with you.... 4.7L owners do in fact see better fuel economey then the HEMI owners. Do some research.

I think Hank meant to buy a 5.7 equipped pickup to fix up instead of the 4.7 you already have....weird, but oh well. Hank is a cynical guy apparently. That's just how it is. I enjoy everything you guys talk about. We all can learn from everyone's successes and failures.
The best mod is an HHO kit. Google it. It uses hydrogen to gain about a 50percent increase inMPG. I am still learning about it and plan to get one soon. But there are some threads on here that involve HHO kits, search HHO under search. It can be used on any gas vehicle and even deisels. Theres some guy on here that has a bunch of youtube videos about it, he used it on his ram. They can run anywhere to 50 bucks to 1000.
i clearly meant that purchasing a 5.7 Ram
