Anyways,
I am figuring on going 2 1/2 pipes out. Sounds right, right? And a 18 inch magnaflow what most of you are running?
As for the y-pipe.....I read that many people said that they are restrictivce. I am unsure how much this place would charge to change it around, but I am basically putting on my exhaust for look, sound, and mild performance gain/mpg gain....should I really consider looking at getting the y done?

thanks
sounds just right. the 18" will give you a little bit of drone between right between 60 and 70 if you have 3.92 gears. go with the 24" if you want almost no drone. probably a better option for you anyway since you have MDS and MDS creates drone too.

leave the ypipe alone for now, unless you plan on going significantly deeper into your pockets.

great choice though, the magnaflow sounds great, and has a higher performance increase than jsut about any muffler out there

Thanks for the advice guys. Really big help.

One more option I was considering which would not affect the price that much. Magnaflow make a DI/DO exhaust (3in/3out). Now that would completely eliminate the Y Pipe and I would have the outlets tapered down to 2 1/2.

Has anyone done this? This was mentioned to me but I am unsure as to how this will overall affect things.

thanks

I would recommend against a DI/DO muffler. If you really want to go true duals with two 3 inch pipes, go with two mufflers, but without headers and high flow cats, you won't see any benefit in them.
Even then, 3" duals would probably cause a huge low end loss, and I don't think you have the clearance between the left shock and the spare tire to take those out the rear anyway.

go with the Si/do 3/2.5 18" or 24", it's plenty on an otherwise stock motor. you'll love it.

or if you really just want something quick for now and save up $ for a full exhaust job later with headers and such, just replace the stock muffler with a si/so 3" magnaflow and keep the stock pipes. pretty much the same sound and performance gain, with less than half the $$
