i took my time so that i could line everything up and hide all the wires so it took me about 2.5 hours taking my time. as you can see in the 3rd pic from my first pic i put wire loom to hide all the wires and i didnt have the right size drill for the switch so i made a "jig" on a piece of 2x4 and had to use a wood drill bit so i could get the right size hole. it was hard because if you look at the switch it doesnt have a very big lip so if you screw up it will probably show the imperfections and i like all my installs to look as clean as possible (not saying anyone elses install is not clean). but yeah all in all took about 2.5 hours taking my time

I don't want to be looking for switches every time a car comes around the corner. Here you are only allowed to have one set of lights on at any one time. Even headlights and fogs will get you pulled over.
Good luck on figuring that one out. It's all ecu controlled. if you do get it working please let us know because I cannot seem to figure it out how to even hae the foglights remain on with highbeams without going to a dealer that will help out with the starscan.

After seeing all the pics and all, I think that I'm convinced to do that myself here soon.
But as a question to you guys with them, first, I believe that I still have the stock battery in my truck, which is an '03. Should I replace that first? Second, what all comes with the lights? Is it all the wires, I just need the harnesses and a switch, or what? Also, because I've seen in our Wal-mart that they have a large arrangement of lights, does the box say Hella 500 on it? Just wanna make sure of that so I don't mess up and purchase the wrong lights. I'm one to always double and triple check to be sure of things first so I don't mess up.
But the lights look awesome.

here is the box. my store had the hella 500 which is what i got and the hella 500ff. the FF just has a totally clear lens and costs a few more bucks. the lights come with everything. lights, rock blockers, relay, wires, brackets and switch. if you dont have any extra wiring stuff you might want to pick that up (extra wire, connectors, etc) just in case. the battery thing is up to you, if its the original battery its been 5 years so its probably about time to replace it anyway...

Alright, thanks for posting that. I'm going to replace the battery here before January, but I'm waiting off until I get my fall paycheck to really buy anything. I want to replace it because my gauge shows that my volts are quite a bit higher than that center mark, and I don't want to be caught out in the cold with a dead truck. So I think I might do the battery and then the lights, or both at the same time since I'll be working under the hood anyway.
