Thanks,

But again I was just trying to figure out a budget so I can tell the wife how much this thing is going to cost. The 1500 mega can be had cheaper than a 2500 QC, and since it has the same chassis as a 2500 I think it is a better deal.

That's a big truck

But if you have an 08 you are going to get the shaft on a trade. Given it being newer, with I assume less miles and warranty (I assume lifetime on the 08) I would keep the 08, not worth the few inches.

I know, but I drive for nearly three hours everyday and my eyeballs are about to rattle out of my head from the shimmy in this thing. It reminds me of my 2000 Tundra which was the biggest POJ I ever owned.

well if you want a nice ride in a large truck the 1500 megacab is the way to go. i love mine. eventhough it has 2500 running gear it still rides smooth.

Default My 08 MegaCab

First off - I LOVE IT!!!

I have the Superchips 8515 and in economy mode I get 11-12.5 with a heavy foot (75-85mph) and 13-15 at 60mph. I pretty much just drive on the HWY, in town would be worse.

I recently changed my tune to 91 Octane and am on my second tank where I heavy footed got the same 11-12.5 but taking it kind of easy and times heavy footed and hilly got over 15. I have 315's as well so I don't expect much. I'm sure that on even ground going 55mph I would easy get 16+.

I have heard on the older (06) MegaCabs there is a AC problem, I have no problem with the AC in mine, got it last February and have just over 12K miles.

Default 1500 Megacab MPG

I have an 07 2wd hemi megacab with a volant cold air intake, magnaflow muffler and a Hypertech E-Con programmer and get about 12mpg in town but upwards of 20 mpg on the highway if I drive within the speed limits.
Also I towed a 34' triple axle Airstream from Near Detroit MI to Lake George New York, and then to Jackson Centre Ohio this past July with my wife and two kids and had no air conditioning problems at all; in fact we often just ran it on low as it was too cool.
We love the truck!!

Hope that this helps.

Thanks guys, sounds like they get basically the same MPG I am getting in my current rig. I hope this deal works out cause I can't stand the truck I am in!

I have about 54K on my tuck right now and I get on avg. 12mpg If I am driving straight city then I am in the 9-10.5 range - straight hwy I avg. about 13.5-14 - I have seen as high as 17 though (think I had some wind pushing me) You can be assured that you are going to get anywhere from 10-13 as an overall avg. if you can live with that then I say pull the trigger, cause these trucks sure are nice.
