They most likely weren't lying to you, just the people you first spoke to didn't have a clue as usual! In the end they probably realised that you weren't the usual walk-over and that it would probably cost more to get lawyers involved then just buy you a damn engine! LUCKY MAN!!! CONGRATS!

P.S. How deep was that water really?????

I also have a 2004 ford F350 6.0 diesel, has an edge chip on it. Pulled too heavy of a load up a hill with it and when it down shifted, it blew the head gasket.
I took it to the local Ford dealership and they wouldn't touch it because of the chip. I went home and removed the chip, and took it to another dealer and they fixed it.
If you modify your vehicle and take the mods off to get warranty work done, you are cheating the system. If you add unapproved mods and all goes south, you should expect to pay for it. If you had an Edge chip on your truck and it helped cause the problem, then you committed fraud.

Why do people think it is OK to add mods that cause problems and then expect someone else to foot the bill...

The same reason people think they can sue McDonalds because they spilled their coffee...

This is a blanket statement, not just this situation: Take responsibility for your actions. I don't care what it is, man up. You'll be better off in the long run.

Human nature! Insurance companies hit us with stiff premiums, so we try to stiff the insurance companies and then they put their premiums up. Around and around in a circle we go where we get off nobody knows!

Dude that's nothing! People have tried to sue McD's for getting them fat!!!!

Go "F"ing figure!

My policy is that I tell the insurance company everything in writing! They can't argue then! Oh and yes I keep every copy!
