The Shaking Stops.
Just got a call from the dealer ship and of course he says its the tires making the shake and your front end is fine. I them the issue when i dropped it off and they didnt even check it they said the front end is fine, mechanics at dealerships SUCK. So know I have to wait till the tech gets back from lunch to check the cv witch i guess he didnt do in the first place.
that sucks dude. I swear they just want to get you in and out without having to do anything...
i'm getting back under mine tonight to double check the rear tranny mount. I'm gonna try to ratchet strap it in place and see if that stops the shuddering problem.

So they slid the axle back on and put a new c lip in and it still shakes, so the service manger drives the same truck and is going to put his wheels and tires on it and go from there.
Got my truck back from goodyear lastnight. After having the wheels and tires balanced at the dealer less than 2 weeks ago, all four wheels wereout of balance again. That makes 4 times in the 2 months i have owned the truck that the wheels have been balalnced. The explanation I got from goodyear is that there are heavy spots on each tire and each wheel, and I had one where both were lined up together so the rotated the tire on the wheel 180 degrees. Much better but still not fixed. For as much as I have spent trying to fix this, I could have bought a new set of tires. Looks like I need to get my money back from the dealer and pepboys for bad balancing jobs. I am thinking I have a bad wheel now.

Also, when rotating wheels unless you specify otherwise the mechanic will rotate the front straight back. I have my front ones crisscrossed to the back as the owners manual states. This has proved a wise decision as far as tire life and the resulting smooth ride is concerned.
Im pretty new to the site, But i have to say that i feel sorry for you blowing all that money on part-changers that dont know what they are talking about. If your front end checked out fine- ball joints, tie rods, control arm bushings, cv axles ect..., and the vibration is in the steering wheel,(not when you hit the brakes)then you have a tire or rim issue. A experienced technician will know a bad tire when they see one, or a bent rim. Escpecially on the balance machine. Just my 2cents. Goodluck with everything.
The first problem you encountered was PEPBOYS. You might as well had gone to Walmart. Goodyear Balanced my wheels 10,500 miles ago and I am just now feeling a very slight vibration in my right front wheel. The balance I got was not the road force but another type of balance. Cant recall what they called it. I have weights on both sides. I have almost 41,000 on these stock tires and they are wearing perfectly even and I have driven on some of the crappiest pot hole riddled roads in America. Ive never had a front alignment on my truck. Yes Goodyears are crap, but I am getting my moneys worth out of mine. Balancing a wheel (IMO) is an art. I have logged alot of miles in my 46 years and dealt with balancing issues regularly. These guys, with the exception of a few, have no clue or simply dont care to do the job correctly. Ive heard all the BS excuses they offer. BALANCE MY **** CORRECTLY OR GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. The average consumer assumes that vibration while driving is normal. NO IT IS NOT! Remember this, You get what you pay for. Go to Pepboys and you get a Pepboys balance. By tires at Walmart and get a factory reject basically. There are people out there that know tires, the trick is finding one. That is no easy feat! COOPER ZEONS are next for me.
The 2 rear tires were replaced this weekend, but that cost me $138, now the fronts are to be replaced, then i can go back to the dealer and tell them it is NOT the tires. Still have the bad vibration. I'll give them one more chance to fix it, then I might be consulting an attorney. Depends on the money situation this month. So far I have spent almost $500 to get this figured out because the dealer swears it is the tires.
OK so I just got back from the dealership and drove the truck with some stock wheels and tires off the service managers truck and the truck did not shake so it is the tires, just talked to my tire guy and he has to call mickey thompson and see what they want to do, hopefully i'll just return them and go with a different brand.
That would be goo news right? Didn't you fell like you were stuck with your purchase and wished you bought something else? I love My cooper LTZ's. I paid $700 mounted and balanced. No tax because i ordered them from Discount tire direct.
Anyways, to the fist post where you say the shake was there before these tires! Did you have the techs check the balljoints or tie rod ends? Did they even mention anything about the driveshaft possibly being an issue? Getting diff tires for the one's you really wanted is great and all, but not if the truck will still shake!
Answer these few questions in HankL style...lol:
Do you feel the shake in the seat?
Do you feel the shake in the pedals?
Do you feel the shake in the steering wheel?
Does the rearview mirror shake?
Does the shake feel the same on both driver and passenger side?
Can you hear the shake?
