Dodge > power/looks over ferd..anything else?

yes the ford tranny is better and stuff but i mean theres no comparison between a hemi and a tryfail I always think of fords as being more of a luxury truck that you take it easy with. the dodge looks nice as hell but can out preform a ford anyday. and with things they way they are right now you could prob find a great deal on a 05 possibly 06-07..maybe. they are tryin to get those things out to make room for the new ones.

when i was gettin my truck i was test driving an 05 dodge for about 20ish at the time and i told the dealer that after this i was gonna go test drive a brand new f-150 for about the same price but brand new and he looked at me and said "well what if i could get you in a brand new dodge for a better price than the new ford?" i said lets see it and here i am. and thats when the 07 was relativly new. so im surrre you could find a great deal on a dodge with all the "toys". laramie anyone?

Default well

a Ram will be better and where are you looking where im at ram are always cheaper than a ford. and as far as accessories the f150 didnt get an i pod jack till 07 and they are hard to find because there an option. where as almost all dodge trucks after 06 have one. the ford might tow a little better but it will triple the time in the shop. and the interior is fragile. but when it comes down to it im a price kinda guy.

Truth be told, brand A is not going to better than brand B, Dodge's have thier issues as well as Ford, in the end, drive all the brand's, do not limit your self to just Ford, or Dodge.

My employer owns a fleet of Gm trucks that I drive on ocassion, unless you have the Z71 package, GM trucks are to low in the Front to be off any good off road.

The drive train ( rear diff ) on the F-150 has Dodge beat, hands down, the only thing that sucks abought Ford, is the 5.43v, 4 speed auto, and Ford dodge's ( play on words ) thier issues, Cam phasser issues, electrical issues ( 550 CAA batteries with the tow package ) were as Dodges are mainatance junkies.

Reserach the up keap on your brand of truck your interested in, might not sound like a big deal now, but issues with the 1500 Ram rear diffs, or Fords lousy rear in board shocks, hancook tires, axel seals ( 04 F-150 ) are common, but not well known.

Fit and finish may apear better on the Ford, but the quality of the rest of the truck is no where close to the standard Ford advertise's.

Something got lost in the design, and building of the F-150, cost cutting measures kill the F-150.

Now for Dodge, the 3rd generation Ram can never be close to the fit and finish of a Ford, but the hemi engine, is what makes a dodge, and to Date, my 06 2500 Ram hemi and 6sp has been the absoulte best truck I have owned.

Ford, and Dodge have the potential to the best truck built, or a total pile of crap, its all in who puts them togethier...
best advise so far! Research enough and all trucks are a piece of junk! They will all break and everyone knows someone with a (place brand & model here) that had 400,000 miles and still drove like new and everyone knows someone with a (place brand & model here) that was a total POS.

Bottom line, I wont be paying for your truck. You will. So go drive a dodge, ford, chevy, toyota, and a nissan. Then wait a week and go drive them all again and see which one you like the most and buy it. Remember they all break down, thats why every dealership has a service department. My 2 cents.

I have driven them all over the years and I say get the truck that YOU LIKE THE BEST.

YOU will be the one driving it, maintaining it, and paying for it.

I agree that Ferd has a better tranny. When I went pickup shopping this summer, I drove an 08 F150 Lariat--top of the line. It rode rougher than the 2001 2500 Cummins that I was trading! Really didn't impress me in any way, especially the 5.4L.

I went and drove my 2008 Ram and it was love at first drive. Basically pick what you like and what you want to take a chance with. You might get the one that goes to 200k before needing something or you might have the nickel 'n dimer.

i dont agree with that at all.......fords overall are crappy work trucks, sure they haul *** when they work, but my dad drives them at work all day as the company's work trucks and its constant problems, i dont think every single one has ever gone a week without a problem.....if ur looking for reliability, go with dodge....they great all around trucks

Hey I was only talking from my own experience. My Dodge is falling apart with only 79,000 miles on it and my ex work trucks had mileage into the stratosphere and were only in the garage for servicing and the odd OD solenoid issue which was a cheap fix. The only other trucks that we had and I may add were infinitaley better were the Dodge Sprinters! Oh before everyone goes crazy saying the Dodge is better don't forget the fact that Dodge Sprinters are just re-badged Mercedes Sprinters! Actually the quality Mercedes took a nose dive since Chrysler took them over! The only good thing I can say about my truck is the great ride and handling (best in it's class by far!!!) and the 5.9l (360) is unbreakeable! Nearly as reliable as the 318 that in my mind was the most reliable engine block ever to come out of the US! Of course people will dissagree but again just my opinion.

YEP! The 318 has more meat around it and is totaly underpowered for it's weight and that's why it never breaks! I had a 1968 Barracude with a 318 and I built the engine to over 300HP! I thrashed it daily, drove it to work and back every day etc. etc. and in 4 years that motor never even spluttered. They give good MPG as well.

Dodges are are the most reliable trucks. I mean come on, why do you think they give you a lifetime powertrain??? But it all depends on what you want and need. dodge has reliability and versitality. dodge has power, but i gotta say yota even beats the hemi. but ford is the best "work" truck. gmc has gas mileage. dont know about nissan but im sure they have their good category lol. Just test drive them all and figure out what fits you best
