I almost bought a new chevy til i checked out dodge. They offered me a GREAT trade in, (00 chev silverado), and a better overall price. A friend of mine has an 04 ford F150 with a 5.4. He tows a 17ft camper for hunting. For something to do, we compared towing on our trucks. I beat him hands down using his own camper. I got better milage and pulled it so much easier. Hes upside down in his truck and is kicking himself wishing he could get a dodge now...simply my .02...roll with a dodge.

I don't know anyone at all who uses a 3rd generation Dodge Ram as their work truck. Everyone I know uses either a Ford or a Gm, mostly a GM...Ram looks like more of the sport personal truck whereas the Ford and GM's look like work haulers and contractor trucks. I personally like the GM and Fords for everyday use but for recreation, the Ram cant be beat

Thier are a lot of 3rd generation work trucks in Alberta, 1500 quad cabs towing trailers, my 2500 is a 3rd generation ram, reg cab long box, I had it built esp for me.

AS for Ford, never again, thier was a time when Ford was the only product I owned now I hate Ford so bad I have turned down jobs were company trucks were Ford.

A lot of loyal Ford guys try to stay with the Ford program, but Ford is no where close to building a quality truck, it all went down hill with the 5.4 and the hyped up 04 f-150.

I doubt you will ever see the 4th gen 1500 on a work site, too pretty to get any thing done.

im my opinion i think all the modern trucks are pretty good. my brother is a contractor and has a 05' 2500 chevy. my 03' quad cab is a much beter looking truck inside and out, sounds better, higher stance, and tuff looking. after seeing the ram i think my brother feels the same because he just picked up an 07' ram.
