You'll pay about $200 for a rear ring and pinion, about $225 for a front ring and pinion, about $100 for a master install kit and about $350-$450 for a rear LSD depending on whether you look at an Auburn or Detroit unit. So, you'll be at about $900 for all the parts, then you'll have to get a price for the labor...

Not unless you put the Tru-Tracs in the front and back. lol Is it even worth putting an LSD in the front if I don't do alot of off roading? Would it be a good idea to put a tru-trac in the back and save some money by putting the auburn in the front?

You are talking about a LSD (limited slip differential) I paid under 2000 for 4:56 gears front and back and a Detroit Tru Trac in the rear diff! The stealership will charge you more then anyone else! I can't remember exactly but it was around 1600-1800 bucks

I have never seen a LSD for the front diff on an IFS truck! It has independent axels and I don't think they make them for it! If you want a lsd for the front then you better fork out $6000 for a solid axel swap!

dodgenitto is correct.
There is no LSD for an IFS Dodge Ram 1500 that I know of ?
As for welding up the carrier????
My friend did that to a huge 4X4 rock crawler on a massive Rockwell axle.
He had to do it "on the cheap".
There was enough welding in that sucker, to sink a battle ship and the welds still broke off!
He was lucky, in that it didn't screw with his pinion or anything.
It's a TOTALLY bad idea.
Get a set of matching gears if you have a 4X4 and a DTT and you will be good to go for the street my friend.
If you have a 2WD jut a rear set of gears and a DTT will set you up also.
Hope this helps?
Al.

nothings wrong with a mini-spool but both wheels will ALWAYS be turning the same speed so you won't have a street friendly truck, mini spools are great for trailered off road trucks that you won't be driving on pavement. Welding the spider gears is a dirt cheap old school fix that's also known as a "lincoln locker" and it effectively makes it a spool, a lot of people have gotten away with that one, I sure as hell wouldn't use it in anything but a 500 dollar beater that's just for thrashin because it will never be as strong as any manufactured part you can buy. Look into the ARB air lockers, they act as an open diff during normal driving and a locker when you need more traction.

lol, i def think he was joking.

ther is absolutely no need for a front LSD on a truck with a solid through transfer case.
putting an lsd in the rear and a solid T/C affectively locks the front as well, unless you somehow manage to spin the two front wheels opposite directions at the same speed
