my dads 04 2500 hemi had 285,000 miles on it. at least 50,000 miles were from towing a 35 ft trailer and the engine mods on it were a supercharger, chip/comp and high air flow exhaust. at about 285k miles he started it up and the crank shaft ( or something) turned into metal fragments and shredded the engine. engine was never rebuilt prior to this. he bought the truck new from the dealer in 03
I have an 04 1500 hemi 4x4 with 150k miles. bought it with 80k on it. I've completely submerged the engine and it's still in excellent condition. issues I've had, radiator fan clutch stripped, power steering rack leaks and I have to refill once a month. at 150k miles I had to replace the shocks. thesse are probably due to excessive offroad use and added weight on front of truck from full steel bumper and running 35x12.5's. these trucks can take a pounding. no drivetrain repairs yet (knock on wood). only suspension issuess were the shocks (everything else is still the same part it came off the assembly line with. at 100k miles you should replace your spark plugs, rotors, brake pads and calipers. oh I had one hub go bad but that's inevitable for any vehicle. at 200k miles my dads windshield wipers decided to not work correctly anymore (they sorta spazz out and not go on a steady pattern). both our trucks leak slightly on the passenger side back seat under the sliding glass window.
