Default Sticky throttle 2004 Ram

My throttle pedal is really sticky. Pushing on it it is like a retcheting device and it is very difficult to make it smooth. I'l tried some WD40 on the pivot points with no luck. It returns fine but I'd like a smoother push.
Anyone had problems like this?
Any solutions?

JIMMY

if you have a 5.7 DON'T CLEAN IT WITH THROTTLE BODY CLEANER, it will do more damage to the throttle body if the wd40 hasn't already, its printed on the side of the throttle body!!!, last I checked they about 300 dollars from mopar. If you have a 4.7 its ok to clean, if that doesn't fix it you could have a problem with the cable.

there isnt a cable going to the throttle body, its drive by wire. unless you are talking about the wires. which i dont think electrical wires would cause a sticky pedal. and im not 100% sure, but i think they dont want you cleaning it because of the electronics on it. i cleaned mine, and was careful not to get any fluid on the electronics housing part of it and that solved my problem.

the 4.7 are cable accuated. the 5.7 are fly by wire. wasnt sure what engine he had. if its 5.7 with a sticky pedal the only thing to do about it is replace the pedal!!

Some throttle body cleaner on a rag and wiping around inside the throttle body should fix that. If you pull the intake tube off you will probably see an accumulation of carbon, clean that off.

i dont think replacing the pedal is the only option. i had a sticky pedal. i cleaned the TB, and now all is well. no more sticky pedal.
