Default Looking for lift advice

I just got a 2004 1500 LB and I wanted to put a 3" lift on it. I was looking for some info on where I should buy the lift kit from and any input or thoughts about it.

First off, what application type are you looking for? Do you just want the look or do you want it to work well off road? Whats your budget?

I want it to have a lift that will work off road, I was thinking maybe only like 3 inches or so. My budget right now isn't that great, I'm only an E-3, but I wanted to get an idea of what to set my goal at for saving money to.

For off-road performance, look at a suspension lift if you can afford it. I've had 3 trucks that I put 3" body lifts on before putting a 4" suspension lift on my current ride. No comparison on the quality of ride and articulation off-road.

so a 4" suspension lift is better? do they make one smaller size, like a 2"? Because I don't want to jack it to much, just a little.

Then just crank the torsion bars, it'll give you the 2" you want, keep stock suspension specs and best of all -- it's free!!!

You can get a leveling kit, lift the front 2''. Or a 3'' lift, lifting the front 3'' and rear 1''.

Sorry i worded that a little wierd, the leveling kit would add 2'' inches to the front, thus leveling it.

search the forums on "leveling kit" there a few DIY forums on that. Not a too hard install, I didn't want to mess with it so I payed a local shop $150 to do mine. Just be sure to get tires aligned after. The leveling kit is only a spacer usually sitting atop the coil spring, cost me 40$ for parts. If you have a 4wd they run about $70 for 2.5'' leveling kit.
