It all depends on what you are looking to do. Personally I am going to be lifting my 4x4 QCSB ram and am looking to max out the torque. I am going with a H/O cam. You can get a superchips 3815 programmer and the H/O cam for about $625 dollars from airram.com and it will add 50hp to the engine which translates to about 40 at the wheels. Next throw in a new cai, add headers, and a magnaflow exhaust and your 4.7 will be hummin'.

Remember to select the H/O cams COMBO deal option on the SUPERCHIPS 3815 PAGE... this is the ONLY way to get the best price!

I think 40RWHP would be generous with those two mods... It has allot to do with the combination of all your mods... I would have to guesstimate those two mods on a basically stock 4.7L would be worth approximately 30RWHP... Its difficult to say for sure. An aftermarket induction system with a High Flow exhaust would see even larger gains with the addition of those mods... but needless to say they are both great mods.

I had those two mods when my 2002 Quad Cab Ram was running 9.91 in the 1/8 mile.

I also had:
- Electric Fan
- ASP underdrive pulley
- 4.56 gears
- 2800 Stall Converter
- 70MM throttle body
- HEADERS (Gibson then JBA today) <-- Both great headers.
- HIGH FLOW Single 3" Exhaust

Today I run 9.94's N/A in the 1/8 mile with the addition of:
- SCT CUSTOM TUNE
- RACE PORTED HEADS
- Caltracs traction bars.

It all depends on how much you would like to do with it. The H/O cams are more torque based than HP based. When you grind the cams to get to the 206, 212, ect... you are taking away much needed torque for higher end. Which put the question in your lap... Do you drive around town alot and need to do constant acceleration that's under 2500 rpms with the occasional outburst (H/O cams) or are you driving day in and day out on the highway and are purely looking up upper end gains (212x cams). Either way you will be happy with the gain in performance.

in my mind hp is over rated torque is what gets you moving and to get how much hp you have u have to use the torque and some calculations
