After the cat you have to cross the frame ASAP. Then it's no problem.

using an adapter to go from 3' to 2.5" muffler inlet is aq bad idea. This will add more restriction in your exhaust flow and rob you of some performance.. If anything, you want to free up the axhaust flow. Either go with two or exchange it for a 3" inlet.

Yeah I was about to ask how quality would be affected by using adapters. I found out that the flow was bought on eBay and so no return policy unless defective. I really like the dual idea but I'm not sure if the wife would appreciate me investing that kind of money just now after we've spent entirely too much on Christmas once again. I really appreciate everybody's opinions and help. Lot of useful info here. I'll have to ponder what I should do, worst case, I put it up on ebay or find somebody who wants to trade.

Sell in the classified section on this forum or on craigslist, then you don't have to pay the eBay fees. You can use the money you get for it to buy the muffler that fits your truck.

Well he is using flowmasters so he isn't concerned with performance

Alright boys, lets see here, just swapping in the muffler will work, any muffler shop can do it and as for the sizing, it is 2 1/4" from the manifolds to the y-pipe then it turns into 2 1/2" single exhaust, so just swapping in the muffler will work, that's all I had done to my Hemi.

My 03 HEMI actually had 3" into the muffler and that would cause a problem.

Mine is the same way. In fact, I have never heard of a Hemi that didn't have a stock 3" pipe going into the muffler.

Sweet. Someone was able to produce pics of duals in front of both rear tires. But I noticed you have a body kit. The mufflers and pipes would show pretty bad on other trucks. How close does it get to the gas tank?

Ok boys, I headed over to a local muffler shop in town and was standing in line when the guy in front of me was in the process of ordering a super 44 because the muffler guy only stocked the 40's. Turned out he needed what I had so I let him buy me a 40 series muffler there in the shop and I gave him the 44. I didn't care between the two mufflers, just as long as my hemi doesnt sound like a minivan anymore. I've got an appointment next monday to get the muffler installed and the resonator cut off. Muffler guy is going to do it for $70. I'm guessing thats a good price, I didn't bother checking around. I'm just glad everything worked itself out.
