Default BFG Mud Terrains

Does anyone have any input on these tires. I am on my second pair already in 8 months, and at $2000 a set im getting frusterated. Tires have been wearing down extremely quick, just wondering if anyone else has been having this problem.

Well MT's don't do wear well on the road for the most part. I have heard that the Definity Dakota MT's from Pep Boys do well though.

Alignment is good all the tires have been wearing evenly, I have only put on about 65,000km and the second set is probably 60% already. The first set im not sure how many km i had on them but im guessing maybe 40,000km. 40,000km on a set of mt tires doesnt seem to go. Just wondering if 40,000km on the mt's sounds about right or not? maybe start looking into different brand of mt tires.

Greg, Why did you buy another set if you wore them down super fast??? Most of the tire wear attributs to the driver. MT's are gonna wear faster on pavement than an all-season or highway tire.

what kind of driving are you doing?? Lots of pavement, gravel roads, dirt?? Ive had some firestone m/ts and some toyo mt's and both wore fast and ive been told its cause of the tire. On average your supposed to get about 50 k outta them. So id say urs arent wearing any faster then usual.

I needed a set of tires and needed them fast, and the mt's were the only ones that he had in stock in the size i wanted. there was no point in buying a smaller sized tire then having to buy the bigger size later.

Yeah thanks nathanp thats what i was kind of figuring, i usually dont put 65000km in 8 months either so maybe thats what was kind of messing me up. And most of the driving has been dirt roads and a bit of highway, until lately now its all snow driving lol. Also for your firestone mt's how have those been to you I was kind of thinking on trying out that tire.

OK enough of this sh*t!!!

'Dog: I don't want to see another "not another ***** thread" post! The second of your posts in this thread is fine, I'd question why he'd buy a second set when the first set's performance were in question, myself.

Jordan: I understand your frustration, but I'm not going to permit any personal attack for any reason. I'm not going to do anything about it, because like I said, I understand where it came from.

However, any personal attacks from here on will be met with the member either being put on a "post acceptance time out" or an out right ban!!!

Greg: That's been the knock on these tires since day one. Decent performance while they have tread, but the tread does not last long on pavement. I know quite a few guys that had/have these tires due to the price and they all pretty much found them to be the same way you do...

the firestones were the best tire ive had, i wish my second set i woulda stuck with them, they arent very expensive and lasted longer then my toyos i paid almost twice as much for. Very quiet on the highway, great on ice in the winter, overall loved them
