Factory Head Unit Question
Hi all, brand new to the forum.
I just got an 06 1500 megacab laramie and had a quick question. My brother in law had the auxiliary input in his, only difference was his was the cummins 2500 package (I'm pretty sure that was the only difference).
Anyway mine doesnt have the aux in. I was thinking about getting an aftermarket head unit, but dont feel like spending the time or money getting everything to work properly. I'd rather just swap it out with a factory unit that has the auxiliary input. Does anyone know if this can be done? It has the infinity system (which I assume has the 7 speakers, maybe someone can clarify).
Thanks for any help offered.

I'm pretty sure it says RDS but i'd have to double check. Bottom left corner of the unit right? I googled the RDS and the GPS one keeps popping up, but I definately don't have that one. I think it would be the RAQ though, as it has the 6 disc changer and pretty sure play's mp3s as well.
I was going to get an aftermarket unit that had the bluetooth, ipod and satellite radio, but i dont feel like doing the work or spending the money on something that may or may not retain complete functionality (or get stolen). My plan now is to install my parrot blue tooth from my old truck (hoping theres a an adapter for the ram) and was hoping there was an auxiliary solution for my ipod and satellite radio rather than using the FM waves.
Thanks for all the help.
Merry Christmas!
