no the switch was the best that friking oreillys had in stock today when i went, it was an extra $6, but it was better drilling a 1/2 hole for a switch that matches, than trying to make a reqtangle hole to fit the switch that came with this kit.
You can basically use any fog light kit, your just mounting them on the back bumper instead of the front.
I think there is even a DIY on this in the DIY section

I wanted them so I could flash any D-Bag that is behind me with thier brights on, or just start tossing bricks out the window, but I never seem to have any bricks handy.

it all depends on where you voltage to the switch is coming from.
Right now mines if direct from the battery (with an inline fuse) so yes they can be turned on with the key off.
I am debating something in the Run position so that if they are left on they can not drain the battery.
I was planning on putting reverse lights on my truck, and was planning on tapping into the reverse taillight wire so as soon as I put her in reverse those lights come on. Just an idea for you. I do like how you hardwired into the direct battery feed so it has more use it for more than just reverse lights. I hardwired my fog lights up so you can use them w/o the truck running too but they draw so much power
That looks like a great idea.....I do some pulling with a horse trailer and that would be helpful at night when I am hitching up in the dark. I did see some slim line rectangular lights that would tuck up under there just right. hmmmmmmm..............
