Default superchips, true gains?

so i was close to buying a used superchips from several guys on here. but now after thinking about it, before i spend several hundred on a chip, what true gains have you guys experienced? im sure for the hemi's its way worth it, however i've got a 4.7. just wondering any real mpg, and torque/hp gains? thanks

it was worth it for my hemi. and just the shifting alone makes it worth it.

If you are doing basic mods then the SC is the way to go. For the 4.7 it will net you like 22hp and 23Tq, the hemis gain 23hp & 32tq. So if the Hemi guys have it and say they see a difference than us with the 4.7's will see a difference as well. I would buy it... however I am looking into really tearing my engine apart so I will need a more advanced tuner or I would get the SC 3815. If you are looking to do a serious power addition and are good with engine work then check out Airram.com because he has a good deal going on right now. SC 3815 programmer and H/O cams for $625. It is a really good deal and will greatly waken up your 4.7.

One of the best mods for our 4.7 motors. Play around with the settings of 87/91 to find what works for you best. But for me 87 setting with 89 octane seems to be just as good as the 91 setting with 91 octane.

I LOVE MY SC 3815 !!!!
it was set to the 91 tune with 93 octane the day i got it and ive played around with 87/89 and i love the 91 the best. shifts are firm but smooth. NO hesitation, when you push the throttle it gets up and goes. i have mine set as follows
speed limiter - 140 ( ill never go that fast but i just maxed it out anyways)
rev limiter - 6300
1-2 WOT shift - 6000
2-3 WOT shift - 5950
i love playing with 0-60 times,1/8-1/4 times. i also like having a table to check various components. i can see everything going on with my engine. also can check/clear engine lights. very much worth every penny i paid ( $379 new) best part i get better mpgs while "PLAYING" than i did being easy without the tuner.

perfectly compliments other mods. The top 3 that go well together are exhaust, cai, tuner. if you do plan to do internals i would go with an sct tune but the SC is very nice too........

I like also my tuner i use it on a 5.9 2002. Have best milage for everyday driving, with 87 oct tune.
but mark that I have some 37" wheels and have no change on the gear's.

i have it and i didnt feel much of a difference. the only thing is that the shifting is different but not quicker and the speed limiter is off. also when i set the rev limiter to more than the stock (6000 rpm) it still shifts at 5400 or 5500 rpm. i dont know what is wrong or is it just like that.

IMO the firmer transmission shifts (which gets rid of the factory built-in slip, theoretically extending the life of the tranny) is worth the price of the unit alone. The added HP & Torque, speedo adjustment for tire height, data acquisition & code reader/clearer are just icing on the cake.
Spend the money on one, I'm sure you'll be glad you did...
