The 238 seems to be a good trans; a little sticky on cold mornings. I'd like to take a 2500Hemi G-56 speed for a spin. GoneFishin - How is the mileage on the highway?

Then obviously, you can't believe everything you read on the internet...

2500 and 3500 come with non-MDS Hemi 5.7L engines standard. 6.7L Cummins is an option on both. It takes 2 minutes of searching to prevent misinformation and junk posts.

Anyway, back to that G-56...

Thier are two version's of the getrag 6sp on the 2500, the g56 and the othier version thats in my 06 2500 5.7 hemi. In my 06 owners 2500 manual it states thier are two versions of the getrag 6sp used for the 2500 , on the transmison houseing, it states what version you will have, mime dose not have the G56, my 6sp getrag was made in Brazil...

The 6sp are not built for drag racing, but are rock solid, 1st gear will pull down a house.

Depending on the time of year----summer i'll get anywhere from 16-18.? mpg I've seen 20+ on a slow day. I also have a "High-T" fiberglass topper which weighs several hundred pounds
Winter--- I'm getting 13-14. I let mine warm up some in the morning due to ice and snow, plus I have just under 500 lbs in the bed for winter.
