Default I set up an appointment

I set up an appointment today having tints installed tomorrow.... i cant wait to see how it turns out. When i went inside the tint shop and talked to the guy about installing the tints on the back window, driver's and passengers window, guess what he said, $300! But i had negotiated with him that i will offer him $100... he was like uhhhhh, a moment later i said, i will pay in $100 in cash and he quickly accepted it. Did i do something or did he fall for cash? It is always a good idea to tell someone if you want to buy something, always tell them "in cash" because they will always fall for cash! So what percent do you think i should get? I'm thinking of getting 20% on front windows and add some percent on the back of the window. I am going to same shop as 02steve1990 got his tint installed.

I will post the pictures...

This is true, if he's trying to take advantage of you already, who knows where he might cut corners or use lower quality materials than you are paying for. Granted, window tint is pretty straightfoward, but if you have a bubble in 6 months, will he try to jerk you around on the warranty?

First off, if I had a price quote for $100, I would go somewhere's else. You get what you pay for. You will probably get low quality tint that will either yellow out, peel or turn purple after 2 or 3 years. A high quality tint has very high UV blocker which protects you and your fabric and reduces glare by 90%. I wouldn't reccomend any kind of metallic tint because it will interfere with radio frequency and any antenna signal as well as your phone.

I got a price of $100 just for the driver and pass. side windows. A high quality tint, high quality job in a controlled atmosphere which stops hair or dust from entering the backside of the tint for any possible distortions, creases, bubbles or lines. You cannot get a quality job from the backyard do-it-yourselfer or most garages as there is way too much dust flying around.
I would find out exactyl what brand tint they use and go from there. If they didn't offer any different options, they are using crap tint. I'm just trying to point out the obvious. Crap tint always turns purple, sometimes gets a yellow hue as well and peels/chalks and does not block any UV lights. Glare will be an issue still. If you have ever been in a car with quality tint you would understand what I am talking about. It's like driving down the road with $20 foglights and then driving down the road with HID's. Huge difference. Actually, ever wear cheap sunglasses??? They could be so dark you need to take them off to go indoors yet your still squinting while outside? Take a pair of $400 sunglasses and you can walk around the inside and see clearly and when you go outside no more squinting. I know because I have $500 prescription Rayban's. Same thing with tint. Good luck
I think $300 for 5 windows is a very good price and $175 for 3 is a good price.

+1 i only deal with 1 guy and hes tinted all mine and the ol ladys new vehicles for years. 100 bucks just covered my 2 front windows. Quality material, quality work, quality man. 1 of our cars we sold 8 years ago is still running around here and his tint is still on it and looking as it did the day he put it on when we bought the car new.

I got my windows tinted not to long ago. I think it was around $85 for my two side windows, 35% tint. I got it done at Ziebart, http://www.ziebart.com/. I think they use 3M window tint. They drove my truck into this big box looking thing when they put it on. I'm pretty sure the back is already 20%. Might want to check your states laws before doing it as well. Some states are real **** about it and cops will pull you over if it's darker than their legal limit. Mine is only 15% darker than legal, so i haven't been bothered about it. Just remeber, real dark tint makes it extremely difficult to see out at night.

$100 for all of them? I wouldn't even risk it.

I got discount because of my 3 cousin went there to get tints on their cars. There is no law against any percent on rear window but front window, 35%. Most cops usually go for ricers or similar cars with real dark tints. I am going to use the highest quality tints applied to the front and back window. I am leaving the rear factory windows alone.

Maybe ill have a guy to remove the factory tints and apply the 20 percent tints so that ill end up paying close to 200 bucks.
