I have noticed the same thing but chocked it up to transmission lag, you stomp the gas and the trans takes a second to down shift before you go. It pissed me of so much tonight that I'm gonna go get a programmer asap. This is my first automatic and I'm still getting used to it but I really miss controlling the shifting myself. Anyone know if there is a way to put a manual valve body in the trans with a ratchet shifter?

I have heard that the fly by wire throttle won't allow the throttle to open fully untill the truck is rolling a bit, how much, I have no idea.

Mine makes more power if you floor it, then back out about 1/2 way. It will still run up to 5600rpm, just faster than wide open. Torque management sucks. I'll be glad when I get my Predator.

I can't remember where I heard it, but if you mash the gas, the throttle will only open up most of the way untill you get rolling, then it allows WOT, it's only a second or two that it restricts the throttle. It was designed to stop excessive wheel spin. I just can't recall who told me. Or maybe I dreamed it. LOL

Mine doesn't ever open up without letting out of the throttle. Even when towing 7500lbs and trying to merge into traffic, you have to play with the pedal to get the most power. Not cool!!!

The problem isn't a problem..the trany is completly controlled by the engine. the rpm of the engine is monitored byt the trany and it will only shift when it knows the appropriat load. A programmer is the only way to "fix" the "problem" by changing the shift point other than that you just have to deal with the stock settings.

next time you get a chance try turning your overdrive off just before mashing the petal instead of waiting for your your pcm to deside that it has enough load to bring rpms up and shift the trany.
