Help! LED tailgate light bar
My wife bought me a APC Tailgate light bar with reverse for Christmas. I attempted to install it this past weekend.
I spliced into the reverse light wire from the tail light and then plug the connector into the 4 pin trailer harness.
Everything looked good and before I mounted it I wanted to test it. When i tested the light bar only the tail lights worked. The brake lights, turn signals, and reverse lights did not work. Any ideas? Thank you

I bought one a while back (without reverse) from a company named Bully. It was crap. It took less then a month for the solder to break and one of the bars to stop working. But i also had some similar problems, Seemed that only my brake lights, and turn signals worked, the parking lights didnt work. I even changed the trailer harness connector, thinking it could have been corrosion in the harness. Still a no go. I don't think I'll buy another one..
it the key on? does the normal reverse light come on when trying the led bar?
read the directions carefully, I installed mine and it didnt work, so I checked the direction and they use BLUE wire for ground instead of BLACK wire, how dumb is that?

Yes, I would check the wires again, or the ground.
Otherwise it sounds like the bar got screwed. I don't have one with reverse, mine is the solid red bar, and I only use the 4 prong trailer plug and it works great. Its been on the truck for 2 years, and I've never had a problem.
Although I didn't use the double sided tape feet, I just used stainless steel self tapping screws to attach it to the truck, that way if I need the spare I can just unscrew that, and theres the opening.

Quick way to check the bar, is to get a spare battery or use the trucks, and directly wire the ground on the bar to the neg terminal.
Then, pick a wire in the bar and flash it to the pos terminal on the battery. You will see either your turns/brake/running/reverse lights switch on/light up in the bar.
If everythings good, then the bar is OK.
Hope this helps?

If I had to guess, you used a quick splice t-tap. Sometimes they can cause issue's if you use a 16-14ga tap for an 18ga wire and vice versus can cut the wires. You should have used a blue tap. Red ones are for smaller wires. Yellow is for larger wires.
