Unhappy Ram dual exhaust help

I recently added dual exhaust to my Ram 1500 5.7 L HEMI. Since that time I have seen a decrease in MPG in performance. I thought this would help me out, not hurt me. Do I have to do something else to start seeing some improvement?

I'm gonna move this to 3rd Gen Ram, where it'll get better exposure among those with the same truck...

Have you been driving your truck differently sinceyou put on the exhaust? Maybe hitting the gas a little harder to hear your new exhaust? I know when I first put on my FM Super 40 my MPG dropped for a while bc I was hitting the gas more to hear my exhaust. And now that I put on the electric cutout I find the same thing happening again

True-duals? If not which catback did you get?

Default dual exhaust

They are not true duals. I had a local muffler shop put them on. It's a one into two glasspack. I thought it would do better.

Fake duals don't flow as well as single exit catbacks. It's a fluctuation in pressure issue. The fake duals are more for appearance and they are actually louder than a single side exit but are relatively the sae tone if not a little bit higher, not lower. My single side exit is far lower toned than my buddy's fake duals out the back. His screams louder when he goes by, but it has a higher tone for the rumble than mine. Both Magnaflow set-ups.

Depending on the muffler, it could be more restrictive or undersized, which could be causing your loss in MPG. But I'm gonna go with the others and say it's probably your foot and your ears causing you to lose those MPGs.
