Thumbs up

Off Road Teacher

I think your truck sounds b/a. A Hemi shouldnt be a sticker or an emblem. Personnel I think the exhaust systems our trucks come with are crap so we have to come up with ways to make people know there is a hemi coming and to get the f&%# out of the way. Just my .02.

Why on earth would you want a full size Hemi truck to sound like a Honda Civic? I turn my truck on and i can't even hear it with stock exhaust. How boring. I guess you think loud muscle cars are redneck too. Sticker $42,000? I'd be amazed if you actualey payed half that.

Quiet trucks are for women....

Yeah, whatever happened to the days of old when muscle cars cackled and loped at idle, then you cracked on the throttle and your whole body was hit with the power of the exhaust?!

Man, I love going to car shows and smelling and listening to the pre-catalytic exhausts!

Must just be me, cause I also love going to tire stores and catching the smell of that new rubber!

Im not calling him a hick, or anyone on this site, by "people around here" im talking local, to me.

I not against no mufflers on certin vehicles, it depends on what it is.

For me, I fired up my truck with the muffler off before I threw on my thrush, It did sound awsome, loud, like old mopar muscle. But it was also retardedly loud, and when the rpms fall from reving it, it sounded like crap.

I would not drive MY truck that way, I wanted somthing that sounded heathy and a little louder than stock, thats why I changed my muffler. I like the sound it has now.

On the other hand my marauder has straigh pipes, it has full exhaust, but without mufflers.
It is quieter than my ram at idle, and its not retarded loud at WOT like the ram was with no muffler. It all depends on what its on.

Yeah, I'm definitely not advocating running open headers, that crap is ear-splitting and should be limited to off-road use. I go to my local fair to watch Truck/Tractor pulls if I want to hear that stuff...I don't particularly care for the punk that does it on the open road, while merging, nailing the throttle so everyone can hear his bad exhaust.

That and those darn Harley Hicks that do the same thing with them loud pipes! Makes me want to throw a brick out in front of 'em everytime one does that.

and for the guy who said the 40,000 why would you want it to sound like $h!t.

i really love some of you guys on here. you take the words out of my mouth. and save me from joining the fight, which i might just be doing right now

p.s. keep the bridge in sf, cuz theres guys who actually are paying 40 for their trucks, and if not 40, 30 easy. i know the new 09s are at no discount what so ever where im at.

and i know the feeling. thats what my nova does. except it actually has the power and acceleration to be making all the noise. you get thrown into the seat and the whole front end lifts up.

Keywords right there. His truck isn't $40,000 right there anymore. The talk wasn't over an '09, it was over Off Road Teacher's 2004 Ram 1500. That isn't worth no 40 grand.

But there's nothing wrong with no mufflers. One kid at my school has no mufflers, and it doesn't sound bad, until it really starts a big drop in rpms. Like hammering it in 1st. Of course he has the 4.7. It doesn't sound that bad idling. But what you are doing here is comparing him to the stupid hicks with their $350 trucks with no mufflers. Yea, those sounds like crap. But a properly maintained vehicle with the correct setup can sound decent. The cackle isn't so much fitting on these new vehicles, but it's his truck.
