i sometimes want my fm original 40 series to be louder but it sounds perfect for my 4.7l. when i got the cai it woke it up and gave it a deep tone that i fell in love with. i just got my new magnaflow y-pipe this morning. i know that will give it a slightly different tone.....

O and new trucks or any thing that doesnt have 400 plus horse power to the wheels does not deserve to run open exhaust, all noise and no go.

Guys the reason the previous poster said his truck was 40K $ is because it was. You missed out on his explaination though he is from Canada like myself and up here we pay more for vehicle even when our dollar was on par or more. Its bull**** but yeah thats the way she goes up here. 40K $ for a truck here in Alberta is pennies nowadays hell back in 2006 when dad bought his F350 King ranch that set him back about 68K $. You guys in the states have way better deals so that how we ended up with practically a new boat at the fraction of the cost of one we could have bought locally.

 

The main thing in a good sounding exhaust is for it to be deep. If it's just loud, that doesn't sound good, but a deep rumble is the best exhaust.

 

Yes. A low volume deep tone exhaust on a 4cyl sounds best to me.

 

my buddy used to have a 2001 sierra that he chopped the muffler off of, damn thing was loud as hell, when i asked him why he did it he said he didnt have the money for an exhaust...hahaha.

 

So all import vehicles that are loud are ricers? Last time i checked, the deffinition of a ricer is any car with all body mods, and no performance mods. Slow as hell? I guarantee you my dads Toyota would smoke any "Street Legal" Dodge on this planet. It's also very loud.
