I have a 2004 Hemi, quad cab 8' box. It has 25000km and my fuel economy is roughly around 30 liters /100km in the city. i believe its a problem with a chip or the computer. its 2 1/2 months old. has anyone had this issue before?
Just remember, its a 5500-6000lbs vehicle that your trying to push. Is it in 4X4 or 4X2? I am currently getting between 10-12mpg...but I tend to put my foot in it. Are you heavy on the gas?
Chris
That's around the lowest I've seen posted. Unless very cold outside temp. I've been getting around 14 mpg city and 17 hwy. Most of my city driving is rush hour freeway so it would probably be a little worse in stop-light to stop-light driving.
Being that you live in Canada I'm sure you are using winter gas right now. What you are experiencing is normal with winter gas and cold temperatures. I can't remember what it is that they add to winter gas, but it does make your fuel economy suffer. I think its butane our another similar substance that is added to assist during cold start ups.
Thanks you everyone for the replys/ im not heavy on the gas..only ocasionally. its mostly city milage and i dont haul anythihng. The winter weather is on and off. its rather warm for what it shuld be in toronto. im wondering weather my computer is malfunctioning such as maybe the fuel sensor.. inserting too much fuel in the engine when it doesnt need it?
