Great choices as follows below...
Mobil 1 5w 30 w/ mobil 1 filter.
Castrol syntec 0w 30 made in germany w/ mobil 1 filter.
Agip PC synthetic 5w 30 w/ mobil 1 filter.
Royal purple 5w 30 w/ mobil 1 filter.
Amsoil 5w 30 w/ amsoil filter

All the above are great choices. The only reason I like mobil 1 is because it filters down to a nominal 10 microns. 10 microns is the lowest ive seen for an ordinary oil filter. If anyone knows for a fact one that filters lower get that one.

I'm just curious, but at what point do you lose flow when you can filter @ or < 10 microns? Once you get too small of a filtering capability, your filter is going to start clogging and restricting oil flow. I'm guessing 10 microns is safe, as there would be a lot of complaints if it wasn't.

And I just checked, WIX claims to filter at 10-12 microns as well. http://www.wixfilters.com/productinformation/index.html

Actually, that page says see application for specific information on your filter. Here is the filter for the 5.7L

10 microns is what you want. This isnt a race car that needs massive oil flow, and if you every come to that moment when you think this truck is a Ferrari, Maserati or Lamborghini and decide to "gun it" the mobil 1 will bypass and allow the extra oil to get through without obstructing it thus not starving the parts!
